Built by hand for daily outdoor adventures
We cut this six-foot lead from selected hides of Full-Grain Vegetable-Tanned Bridle Leather, chosen for its tight grain structure, tensile strength, and calm hand feel. While nylon leashes fray and burn your palms when a dog pulls suddenly toward a trail scent, bridle leather provides a sure, forgiving grip that feels comfortable on long walking loops. Every strap is hand-split to an even thickness, beveled along both edges, and rubbed smooth with natural beeswax on our finishing wheel. We saddle-stitch the handle loop and solid snap joint with thick waxed harness thread, ensuring that no metal rivets can corrode or snap loose during active backcountry strolls.

Four steps of our leather finishing process
Select The Spine
We cut our long straps along the bend of Full-Grain Vegetable-Tanned Bridle Leather for minimal stretch.
Bevel Edges
We edge-bevel all four corners so the strap never bites into your fingers under pressure.
Burnish With Wax
We rub the raw cut edges with natural beeswax using a grooved wooden burnisher until mirror smooth.
Saddle Stitch
We pierce and stitch both loop ends by hand with heavy waxed thread to eliminate rivet failure points.
Vegetable-tanned leather versus synthetic strap webbing
The problem with synthetic webbing leads
Synthetic nylon leashes cause painful rope burn on your palms when your dog lunges toward another animal. Cheap metal rivets rust, loosen over time, and can pull free without warning.
Our approach to handcrafted canine gear
We build with Full-Grain Vegetable-Tanned Bridle Leather, hand-beveled along all edges and stitched by hand with thick waxed thread. It provides a tactile, secure grip that protects your hands.
Caleb Brooks
A vegetable-tanned leather lead provides an immediate, tactile connection with your dog. You have precise control without the harsh palm burn that nylon creates.
Hand-stitched along every structural joint
Tied with jute twine in recycled kraft carton
We roll each leather lead smoothly, tie it with natural twine, and box it in unbleached cardboard. Completely free of single-use plastic wrap.

Canine gear and handling questions
How does the leather hold up in wet weather? +
Full-grain bridle leather repels light rain well. If it gets thoroughly soaked on muddy trail walks, wipe it with a dry cloth and allow it to dry away from artificial heat sources.
Are there metal rivets that can pull through the leather? +
No. We avoid hollow rivets. We saddle-stitch all strap loops with heavy waxed harness thread by hand for enduring mechanical strength.
What payment methods do you support? +
We accept cash on delivery and direct bank transfer through our site checkout.
What is the return policy for canine equipment? +
You may return the unused lead in its original packaging within 30 days of delivery. Return shipping is paid by the customer unless the gear is faulty.
